Zafrani Sooji Ka Halwa Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of Sooji / Rava / Semolina / Farina
  • 1½ Cup of clarified Butter / Desi Ghee or unsalted butter
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • ½ Cup of Diced Almonds / Badaam and Cashew Nuts / Kaju mixed together
  • 1½ cups of water
  • 1 TeaSpoon of Zafran / Saffron soaked in 1 TeaSpoon of warm water for 5 mins.

Preparation Method

  1. Heat a non stick deep dish pan on med low heat.
  2. Add butter and stir it continuously, keep an eye on butter so that it does not burn.
  3. Now add Sooji and stir it till it turns light brown, Cook on low heat (It will be cooked when you can smell it outside your kitchen also), it will take around 5-8 minutes on low heat.
  4. Now add Sugar and dry fruits (Almonds/ Cashew nuts)
  5. Now add water to it add till it turns thick.
  6. Add Saffron and stir.
  7. Garnish with some dry fruits and serve hot and some saffron petals.
