Chenna and Matar Ki Tikki Recipe

Ingredients

  • Peas, crushed - ½ cup
  • Ginger, chili paste - 2 TeaSpoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Lemon juice - 2 TeaSpoon
  • Sugar - a pinch
  • Coriander leaves, chopped - 1 TeaSpoon
  • Garam masala - 1 TeaSpoon
  • Oil - 1 TeaSpoon
  • Cumin seeds - a pinch
  • Chenna - 1 cup
  • Salt - to taste
  • Coriander leaves, chopped - 2 TeaSpoon
  • Bengal gram flour - 1 TeaSpoon
  • Oil to shallow fry
  • Cornflour or Maida – for dusting

Preparation Method

  1. Heat 1 TeaSpoon oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
  2. Add crushed peas and sauté them for 5 minutes or till all the moisture is dried up.
  3. Add all other remaining ingredients, mix well and cook for a minute.
  4. Take it in a bowl, keep aside and cool.
  5. Meanwhile mix all the ingredients for the chenna and mix well.
  6. Divide into 6 equal parts. Roll and flatten into 2" rounds.
  7. Divide the pea's mixture into 6 equal parts and stuff each rounds into chenna cake.
  8. Roll them and make into cakes.
  9. Dust with little corn flour or maida.
  10. Shallow fry them and put them on the tissue paper to soak the extra oil.
  11. Pack with ketch up or chutney.
