Navaratri Raita Recipe

Ingredients

  • 5 Singharas (boiled, peeled and chopped)
  • 1 Potato (boiled, peeled and chopped)
  • 1 Sweet Potato (boiled, peeled and chopped)
  • 1 TableSpoon Peanuts (whole roasted)
  • 1 TableSpoon Coriander Leaves (finely chopped)
  • 1 Green Chili (finely chopped)
  • 1 TeaSpoon Cumin Powder
  • 1/2 TeaSpoon Cumin seeds whole
  • 1 Cucumber (chopped)
  • 1 cup Thick Curd
  • Sugar to taste
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 TeaSpoon Oil

Preparation Method

  1. Beat the yogurt (Dahi) in a deep bowl.
  2. Add sugar, chopped chillis, cumin powder and salt. Mix well.
  3. Add all vegetables and peanuts. Mix well.
  4. Chill the mixture well.
  5. Heat 1 tsp oil in a crucible.
  6. Add cumin seeds and saute.
  7. Pour over the raita.
  8. Garnish the raita with chopped coriander leaves and serve.
